Nutcracker Ballet - WOW

So G and I (and some great friends) were so lucky thanks to UsFamily Bloggers to be able to go to see the Moscow Ballet's Great Russian Nutcracker on December 17th at the historic Hippodrome Theatre in Baltimore.   Having it there made the start to our holiday so special. 

We were so impressed by it!  We normal go as a G and me thing to the local nutcracker show so this was our first time to see the professionals perform.  We loved it, the story was slightly different than the version we see, but we were able to follow along just fine.  The music was played by an orchestra and let me just say they did a great job.  The costumes were so amazing too.  But most of all the talent of the dancers was fantastic.  I loved the extra touch of having some of the local children be in the performance also. They were so cute, and great budding talents.  We can't wait to go back again.

Nuttcracker Ballet...Something I do with G!

I know its a bit early to be thinking about Christmas traditions.. I mean Halloween just ended and Thanksgiving isn't even here yet, but....

G and I go to see the Nutcracker every year.  We have gone since he was a about 3.  I am so blessed to have a boy who will go to the ballet with me.  He just loves the story of the Nutcracker.  We usually go and see the local ballet company (which put on a Great show), but this year I thought it would be really cool if we traveled to see the Moscow Ballet perform it.  He is over the moon excited. 

I thought I would share with you how to get discounted tickets.  I can't wait to go and I will share back how great it was.  Here is some info about it..

In 1993, Moscow Ballet toured the Great Russian Nutcracker to Washington DC, Baltimore, Syracuse, Orlando, Ft Lauderdale, New Haven, Reading and Charleston WV for the first time to critical acclaim. Directed and choreographed by Stanislav Vlasov, former soloist with the Bolshoi Ballet, and well known as a "Grand Dance Artist," the inaugural six-week tour starred principal ballerina Lillia Sabitova. It also featured the innovative rolling backgrounds first created by a St Petersburg Conservatory of Music producer, and which were the inspiration for Eisenstein's cinematic technique. Since then the annual tour has increased to include about 100 performances on the tour to cities from San Juan to Calgary, and from New York to California, traveling with two simultaneously touring companies of forty dancers each.

This week (and some of Last) weeks lunches

Some days I feel creative and some I really don't  I fee like my lunches were so much better when G was little.  Don't know if it is because I always had a theme or just more time...

My AdoramaPix book!

New School Year :)

Well G started school again.  2nd grade, my how time flies, before I know it he will be off to college.  He was very excited to start school.  I asked him if he still wanted me to make him"cute" lunches and he told me YES, he loves them and makes them feel special.  So I am going to do my best to be creative again.

Here he is on the first day of school (which was 1/2 day so no lunch)

I think he is just the cutest.


So Tuesday was his first full day and first lunch to take.  He requested left over pizza, so when I asked how to make it cute he told me one of the pizza monsters.

Under the cookies is a chicken nugget hiding (another left over he requested)
and the cookies have Happy First Day of School etched in them.


Today he requested the last slice of pizza (who am I to argue it makes life easy)

So I used my cutters to cut out a cute frog, with a slice of cheese on top to see his cute face better
Strawberries and "big" carrots.  The cookies take the bottom of my Easy Lunch box container.  He does have a yogurt and juice box too.

So I told you guys about the metal print promotion (here).  Well I was lucky enough to be able to get one so that I can tell you how awesome it is. (Print was provided to me, but the review is all mine)

I can not believe how Gorgeous the colors are.  I took a picture of my boys outside, and had it made into the hexagon print.  I am more than impressed.  It is just perfect.  see for yourself, but the picture does not do it justice

It was super easy to make and know that it was going to look great before it was shipped to me.  Sometimes when I have things like this made I worry that I am not going to get what I saw on the screen.  This time it was even better!

I've been doing a horrible job blogging....

I have just started to at least stick my lunch photos on Facebook.

I will tell you that the creativity in them has fallen due to walking around like a zombie most of the time... I am hoping that once baby c is sleeping better I will get better with G's lunches.
