A is for Alligator

Yesterday G talked about alligators, he does love them too :)


So today I made him an alligator

The Alligator is bread and cheese sandwich.  The A is cute up string cheese.  He has some hot dogs, A cheeses, apples, a cookie and a yogurt.  G wanted the monkey that go in the alligator song so he picked out the monkey (and one orange frog) picks.

A is for Ant

As you know G has been working on the letter A this week.  They also did an  Ant study they figured out that ants like sugar better than salt.  so cute... so I combined both into this lunch.

Cheese letter A,  Cheese and bread Ant (made with three circles, and free cut legs and antenna).  Carrots and pepperoni, strawberry and a donut hole.

A is for Airplane

Today we have A is for Airplane.  Yesterday G came home and asked me what letter did Jet start with... when I told him, he wondered why they were talking about them with the letter A... we had a big talk about Jets and Airplanes being similar.  It was cute..  anyhooo.... sorry...

the lunch is a cheese sandwich airplane, with cheese letter A.  Apples (for Johnny Appleseed Day) carrots, pepperoni and a donut hole.

A week

Well I know its Tuesday (we went out of town friday - monday) but it starts a new week for G and I .... we are going to do letter A week....

all things that start with A.


So starting it off (after G go to go Apple picking) an Apple.....

The apple is a bread, cheese and pepperoni open faced sandwich, with a piece of lettuce as the leaf.

He has strawberries in the little suitcase, with the leftover cheese on top
carrots, and his treat is a donut hole from his Nana and Papa's house.

He has a yogurt and drink box too :)

Red Riding Hood - sort of

This is one of those lunches that looked better in my head when I had lots of time to put it together... but after over sleeping, it didn't turn out at all like I thought....

so bear with me with this Sad Red Riding Hood and the wolf.... G will get it I'm sure...

He has the same as always, cheese, strawberry and carrots. This week we are on a roll with steak, he is eating it up!

Humpty Dumpty 2012

G came home from school with this little piece of artwork....

LOVE it!  So I asked what it was (yes I already knew) so he told me the "story" of Humpty Dumpty.. so cute!

So I had to make him a Humpty Dumpty lunch.. .I know I made him one last year, so it had to be a bit different..

So Humpty is a hard boiled egg... (last year he was just cheese) and his wall is an open faced (the idea is for him to fold it up to a sandwich) of steak and cheese.

He has the usual, carrots, strawberry, more cheese and steak and of course his yogurt and a cookie.

Something Simple

Well  I have had a head cold.. for the past 4 days that just puts a momma down....

so today's lunch had to be something simple...

looking at my boxes of lunch stuff I saw the flower cutters and the pea pod cups and thought, yup that will work...

So... in his suitcase he has some leftover steak from last nights dinner... in the pea pods, we have carrots, cucumber flowers and a strawberries.  in the flower cups we have flower cheese, crackers and a cookie.  He has a yogurt and juice box to :)

1, 2, 3 to the Zoo

G has a reading carnival today at school and the book he is reading is Eric Carle's 1, 2, 3 to the Zoo
 They are dressing up like animals and doing lots of fun things.
So I had to make his lunch match it.

He has cheese 1, 2, 3 and an cheese lion. The Z O is colored bread and the last O is an oreo.  in his cups on the side we have lion and giraffe turkey cut outs, strawberries and goldfish.

He got a yogurt too :)

Easy Angry Birds...

I woke up this morning with a horendus head cold :(  I so didn't feel like doing anything for lunch.... but of course I just thought about my little guy opening his lunch box to a non special lunch and I had to do it...


So since the other day he requested an Angry Bird lunch, I thought he might like another one.

This one is no real thought... I promise... and yes I know it will never get to school the way it looks....

Angry Bird animal crackers are the birds and the pigs...  they pigs are stacked on crackers and cheese.. the slings shot is stringcheese colored green with a piece of turkey.  On the sides, oranges, yogurt and turkey..... I ran out of carrots and pretty much all veggies he likes, so he is without... oh dear. 

hope he like it.

This little Piggy

Even at 4, G still loves when I do this little piggy on his toes... I can get him giggling so hard... it makes me smile.  So to remind him of it I made this simple piggy today.

Piggy is a piece of bread cut in a circle (g likes deconstructed sandwiches, much better than regular ones) with cheddar and swiss snout and ears.

Turkey and cheese roll ups, strawberies and m&m's and his go-gurt round out the lunch.

Trains :)

Before bed last night G and I read a few books about Trains... so today we have a simple train lunch

Nothing fancy, same old, same old foods....  Train is bread and cheddar and swiss, in the "suitcases" we have oranges and turkey..  and his treat an OREO cookie.

He picked out Go-gurts at the store this week so that is his yogurt this week :)

Circles

Well.... I don't have a theme for this week, I haven't really figured out what and if G has Themes at his new school, so I've been kind of winging it....

I was rushed this morning, somehow I just didn't get out of bed as early as I do and then my hair wasn't cooperating (you know those mornings)... so I had to think fast....


Enter - Circle Day

Hot dog, cut into circles, in my pea pod silicone container... (how cute is it) I have cheese in circles, strawberries in circles, and carrots yes in circles...
Then we have a cookie, crackers, his yogurt upside down to show a circle and a special treat of m and ms... yes I wish it was in a circle container, but it was a request from G so it went in last min.

so.. should I stay with shapes this week or just keep being random?

A Request on a Sunday

I usually don't do "special" lunches on the weekend, but when you baby asks you to... your heart melts and you do it....

Pretzel rod sling shot, ham and cheese red bird, cheese yellow bird, grapes and the building out of bread.... he loved it.

Biscuit Goes to school

Happy Friday! G was very excited that it was Friday today (his first Friday of school).  I am glad it is too ;)

Today's lunch

So to go with the story Biscuit Goes to school, we have Biscuit the dog made from a soft pretzel. and a cheese heart with some cheese nose and mouth.
He then has carrots, grapes, a yogurt and string cheese and cheddar circles.  With a cute little pick :)

How do Dinosaurs Play with their Friends.

Today was a rainy yucky day and I didn't want to get out of bed, but alas.. I had to... so today's lunch is  a quicky, but still cute I think.

its a dinosaur cheese and turkey sandwich, with a swiss cheese slide, mini pepperoni, left over cheese, carrot, apples a cookie and of course his yogurt.

The Kissing Hand

So when G was having a hard time with school we started to read the story The Kissing Hand

It really helped him have a better day at school.  So today's lunch was the kissing hand

The saddest looking raccoon made out of bread, a cheddar hand, with a drawn on heart.  Ham, apples, carrots, a cookie and a yogurt..

Today G picked out the book Guess How Much I Love You 
We love reading the book together, in fact the book was given to me by hubby when we were dating. Warm fuzzies all around..

The Lunch (I feel like G eats the same thing every day, just in a different way, must work on that)

Open faced cheese sandwiches (cheddar and swiss) bunnies.  Turkey with a swiss heart and a cheddar U.  (love u) a cookie is hiding under that, and then grapes and a carrot.  I put a yogurt in right before I packed it up.
